Sister Laffy Taffeta

Picture
I’m Laffy Taffeta and I’m every bit of my dad’s “Minnesota-Nice,” but look out, ‘cause just beneath the bright eyes and ginger beard smile is a streak of my momma’s “Jersey-girl!”

As a Bible school dropout, and 6 year ex-gay reparative therapy survivor, I joined the sisters as an aspirant in the summer of 2019. I was yearning for an avenue to be a more involved member of KC’s LGBTQIA+ community. What I found was an opportunity to quench my souls thirst for community, activism, and a creative/spiritual outlet to express myself that I hadn’t even realized I needed.

This group of beautiful individuals, in a short time; became friends, teachers, confidants, and Sisters. They push me and inspire me to be all that I am, and all that I could be. And together with them I hope to show the world the unimaginable joy that is found in loving yourself and loving others.
