Postulant Sister PheeBee Poofay
A Cajun native of Lafayette, La. Born into a bi-racial family and held sacred traditions of Catholicism, my life has been unapologetically mysterious. Diversity and empowerment runs in my blood and where resilience is the language of my ancestors.
Cloistered Benedictine for several years, I learned the joy and pain of living in community but the process of active listening brought the movement of responding. Emerging to that response, I began to give voice to my own truth and what ignites my own heart. Having lived in Kansas City for three years, involving with the Kansas City Center for Inclusion, Advocacy and being a Social Worker, I find the 21st Century Queer Nuns to be my sisters and my faithful family. Wrapping me in their omniversal joy and ridding of stigmatic guilt, I found my mission as a future sister. If you see me around, ask me my about my deep passions of reading, history, traveling, TV show Friends and Golden Girls. If I see you sitting alone where ever the sisters shall be, always be assured that I’ll say hi to you. |
